The CDC has been quite busy lately. Some new Guidance has come out that may impact your workplace and how you are conducting day to day processes. So hang on to your hat, because your policies are going to change . . . AGAIN.
The CDC updated its mask policies and is recommending double masking that fits snuggly across the face. Gators must also be doubled up to provide maximum effectiveness. Face shields: the jury is still out. The CDC updated its explanation on the proper way to wear masks here and here.
Now that the vaccines are beginning to rollout the CDC updated its guidance regarding exposure and quarantine to a person that has been vaccinated.
- People who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they have been fully vaccinated against the disease within the last three months and show no symptoms.
- Also, people who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 3 months and recovered do not have to quarantine or get tested again as long as they do not develop new symptoms.
Oh, and while I have your attention, on January 29, OSHA issued new Guidance for Mitigating and Preventing the Spread of COVID in the Workplace. There is a great list for employers to follow and incorporate into a COVID prevention policy. If you don’t have one, I recommend you get one. I have already had to answer several OSHA Complaints for employers that asked for this policy. If you need one, I know a good employment lawyer who can help you with that.
